A cross country road trip strands you in a mysterious town lost amidst the towering mesas and swaying dunes of the great wild west. Will you beckon the glowing call of its lone storefront and embark on a fantastical multidimensional walkabout through space and time?

Experience a beautiful environment where nothing is what it seems, a spatial labyrinth where doors always lead to different destinations, an anomalous zone where mass gingerly defies gravity, a universe of inspiration, of dreams,  of everything and nothing: Experience 0°N 0°W .

  • This is a peaceful adventure apt for all ages; it was exhibited in the Children's Museum of the Arts NYC to a great reception by children and adults alike.
  • Entirely non linear gameplay in an open world where everything you see is accessible. There are no barriers or invisible walls to block your curiosity; walk to the very edge of the world to see what happens...
  • A minimalist reinterpretation of modern gameplay mechanisms that eliminates loading screens, user interfaces, inventories, skill trees, stats, quick time events, puzzles, etc. This is gameplay distilled to its very essence with the sole objective to explore in wonder!
  • A randomized/procedural level progression system that provides a different journey each time you play. All the levels are artistically hand crafted with love, however the manner in which all these levels intertwine changes continuously; giving each player a unique experience.
  • All player instructions and menu options are represented via symbols making the game accessible to all geographical audiences. There is no need for subtitles or dubbed voiceovers.
  • An evocative musical soundtrack composed of cascading arpeggios and vast soundscapes inspired by the ambient, minimalist and avant garde movements of the 20th and 21st century (brian eno, terry riley, alva noto, steve reich, philip glass, boards of canada). There is a total of 7 hours of continuous music. All other sounds were field recorded throughout various natural and urban environments or generated with various synthesizers and musical instruments.

Work on 0°N 0°W started in early 2014 after reading an article on ‘null islands’, cartographic error dumps for the geographical information system (GIS). The concept of a ‘physical’ location for geospatial anomalies was so fascinating it propelled design; what if somebody entered an alternative gps dimension of spatial bugs? The focus was to model and musically accompany everything to transmit this atmosphere of an oneiric anomalous world between fantasy and reality. In January of 2015 project ‘dream.sim’ was released in itch.io illustrating the gameplay of a level. The aesthetics were inspired by the original Tron movie and CAD representations of urbanist master planning models. After positive reactions we entered the late Steam Greenlight program battlegrounds. A few months later with the release of a second prototypical level the project was voted successfully by the Greenlight community for a Steam release and also invited to join the Nintendo Developer Program for the Nintendo Wii. 2016 was a year of exhausting 24/7 developing marathons that consumed metric tons of ramen + coffee and an appendix. Its finally 2017, three winters have passed blanketing the northern realms with fluffy snow, we switched to decaf, started planting our own food and completed 80+ 'levels' with an accompanying soundtrack of seven hours of continuous music to enhance the experience! We are now ecstatic to show the world 0°N 0°W !

Colorfiction is a small independent game software developer company based in Connecticut, USA. An ethereal misty land where deer, raccoons, suburbanites and witches dwell alike in somewhat bucolic communion among forgotten farmlands riddled with undulating ancient rock walls. With a diverse ample background of boolean and resonating wave shaping in trimensional space¹, we enjoy investigating the interstitial zone between art and technology via the creation of visual auditory software. Our hobbies include planting potatoes, chasing away the variety of wildlife from our peach tree and driving twenty minutes for groceries to the real life set of the stepford wives. We also enjoy writing incredibly obtuse lyrical prose so please enjoy the flashy images/videos and try to overlook the commodious thesaurus fatigue.
